Teaching Objectives

The objectives of English teaching in Guang Da from Secondary 1 to 6 are manifested in our English curriculum and co-curricular programmes. We aim at:

• building a strong interface between the junior secondary and primary curricula

• laying solid groundwork at the junior secondary level via the cultivation of good learning habits and interactive lessons

• cultivating extensive reading habit via graded readers of fiction and non-fiction books

• encouraging participation in inter-class and inter-school English activities and competitions

• providing English bridging programmes, enrichment courses and supplementary courses to cater for learner diversity

Our Vision and Mission

Our English Panel aspires to develop students' English language proficiency through providing them with a language-rich environment and opportunities for English learning. In this regard, and in response to the requirements of the Basic Academic Attainments for formal education of the local education system and the University admission exams, we are sparing no effort to nurture students' motivation in learning the English language, develop their skills in preparing for and taking public exams, as well as using English effectively in daily communications. We believe, the learning of English in Guang Da is not merely a subject in school, but also an experience for students to widen their horizons and deepen their knowledge and comprehension, and that it is also a key to effective communication in global communities. Without doubt, learning and using English will become a crucial part of their lifelong experience.
